This limited edition candle, hand poured in Athens by Waks, is beautifully scented with amber and olibanum. The glass container is hand-painted by Unknown Territory artist Timos Livaditis exclusively for GBG. Each character is part of a collectible set of four.


Our collaboration was inspired by the epic story of Troy; the Ancient Greek tale of love, war and revenge.


A rope ladder dangles from an escape hatch in the side of a pantomime horse, ready for the Greeks inside its belly to climb down and ransack Troy. ‘Beware, things are not always what they seem’ warns the caption-but at Greeks Bearing Gifts we think that surprises can also be good.

Unknown Territory was born from artist Timos Livaditis' belief that art should be accessible to everyone. His gallery-shop close to the Acropolis in Athens, is filled with a range of mixed media; from bold canvases to fashion, hand-painted with distinctive, humorous adaptations of figures from classical antiquity and vibrant portraits of fantastically imagined creatures.


For his first collaboration with GBG the inspiration is the Story of Troy, the tale of a Greek gift that turned out to be both a surprise and a masterstroke – that’s exactly the aim at Greeks Bearing Gifts. We have created a range of scented candles, hand poured in Athens by Waks. Each candle is a unique artwork, individually painted with the artist's humorous take on four of the story's major players.
