Having spent her childhood summers on the island of Spetses, Christianna Economou formed a deep and lasting bond with the sea. She studied sculpture and art in London and returned to Greece to pursue her Mediterrannean dream. Island life, endless seascapes and derelict fishing boats are the focus of her work. She captures the essence of the sea and the traditions and language of its people into her ceramics. She pays homage to modern greek folklore, her daily inspiration.
